Let's Get Started:


  • Roll some red fondant and by using thin cake board, cut the round shape with the knife.


  • Cut smaller the round shape by reducing 1 cm of it.


  • Attach it to the top of the covered styrofoam base and then roll some yellow green with 5 mm thickness and cut it stripe with ruler to cover the border of the base.


  • Do the same with the half round covered styrofoam and then cut round red fondant by using cookie cutter and deform it by pulling it into the oval shape. Cover the top of half round covered styrofoam to make the watermelon shape.


  • Positioning the watermelon on the top of the base and then insert bamboo skewer in the center of it. Paint the red parts with black gel color to make watermelon seeds. Dilute jade dust color with water and then paint all the watermelon side with dab and tap technique.


  • Roll 21 grams white modelling paste for each leg into the cone shape and then by using your small finger, roll slightly to make the definition of the ankle and the back of the knee. Make two pieces of it.


  •  Press the bottom part but not too thin to make the foot.


  • Turn it to the front and pinch the side of the knee to make more definition.


  • By using your thumb make small round movement to take out the knee shape and then bend the legs.


  • Cut fuchsia fondant into U shape and then cover the foot to make the shoe.


  • Cut green fondant based on the foot size to make the sole of the shoe.


  • Position the legs on the top of the watermelon.


  • Cut white fondant with scalloped cookie cutter.


  • Cut round the center of it and open it, then ruffle it a bit to make the skirt. You need to make 2 of them.


  • Positioning them in the top of the legs


  • Roll 40 grams ivory modeling fondant into sausage shape and then with your finger pull out the top part to create the neck part.


  • Pinch out the side to make the definition of the shoulder and flatten a bit of the thickness of the sausage shape.


  • Insert the body into the bamboo skewer and then shape the waist line.


  • By using the same techniques of step 13 and 14 cut the fuchsia fondant with round shape cookie cutter. Attach the fuchsia skirt into the body.


  • Cut white fondant like the picture to create cloth.


  • Glue it around to the body with the V shape on the front and then cut both side to create the sleeveless shirt. Be careful not to cut the shoulder part.


  • Cut also the V shape on the front part.
  • Cut white fondant like the picture to create the cloth part of the waist.


  • Roll yellow green fondant into stripe shape and also roll green fondant into small stripes. Positioning the green fondant stripes vertically into the yellow green stripe and the press it carefully with rolling pin.


  • Attach the waist’s cloth and attach the stripe, then cut the front part like the picture.


  • Dust the waist part. The bottom part is mixing between ruby and pink candy dust colors then the top part is mixing between yellow and emerald dust colors. Dust them with the brush gradually.


  • Roll white, red, and green into small long sausage shape. Create small stripe of the red fondant and then by using the dull part of dresden tool, pull out the stripe to create ruffle effect. All of these are the decoration part for the cloth.


  • Attach all the decoration to the cloth like the picture.


  • Cut M shape to create the collar and line them with the white small sausage shape fondant.


  • Squeeze the aluminum foil into the bamboo skewer to make the ball shape with 4 cm diameter. If you have styrofoam ball with 4 cm diameter, you can use that instead doing this step.


  • Cover the aluminum foil with 35 grams of ivory modeling fondant and then with your finger press the two sides and the bottom part of it to make the definition between eyes and take out the nose part.


  • By using silicone brush with round tip make more definition and pull out the nose part. Then press down little bit the top part of the nose to make nose line and make the nice shape of the face.


  • Make the eyes hole by using medium size of ball tool and then insert white fondant into both of them.


  • Draw the mouth with the sharp tip of silicone brush.


  • Take out the fondant from the mouth and pull out the lips on the top and the bottom with dresden tool.


  • Fill in the mouth with red fondant and mix white with little bit red fondant to create pink for the tongue, then attach the white fondant on the top to create the teeth. After that by using round silicone brush make some mark on the both side of the mouth.


  • Mark the eyes hole with small ball tool and by using oval plunger cutter, cut yellow green fondant and fill in the hole to create pupils, take out the excess if it’s too long.


  • Draw the eyes and then add some white fondant to create the light of the eyes.


  • Roll some black fondant into long sausage and then attach to the top of the eyes, then roll long sharp cone and cut the tip to create eye lashes.


  • Dust the cheeks with pink candy color and create the shading of the face with peach delight or ivory color.


  • With fuchsia fondant color, make some thick oval shape to cover the head. Cut a lot of fuchsia fondant with craft knife and smooth the side with the help of silicone brush, then mark it with dresden tool like the picture to create hairs.


  • Attach the hairs to the head.


  • With the same technique from step 6, roll 8 grams of ivory modeling fondant each cone shape to create the hands. Roll also some of white modeling fondant to create the palms.


  • Flatten the bottom of white modeling fondant.


  • Cut the fingers by using craft knife.


  • Smooth all the fingers by using your fingers, if they become long just cut the excess.


  • Cut the palm from the white and ivory modeling part. Switch and attach them, then insert the flower wire. The right side of the hand, let the wire go through outside from the palm because this one need to hold the watermelon slice.


  • Bend the right side of the hand and also bend the top of the wire of both hands.


  • Attach the hands to the side. Then on the right and the left hand attach some stripe of ivory modelling fondant to create the thickness of the puffy sleeves. Cover them with yellow green and green stripe fondant by using the technique from step 24. Mark them with the dresden tool to create some fabric movement.


  • Give some decoration with red line and attach some white ruffles from the technique of step 27 to the puffy sleeves.


  • Roll some red fondant into sausage and roll thick some white and green fondant. Positioning them like the picture and cover the red fondant, take out the excess of white and green fondant if they are too long. Then roll them together.


  • Slice the rolled fondant to create the watermelon slice like the picture. Some slice it smaller to create the bows for the shoes and to attach on the collar.


  • To hide the seams between the hands and the palms, cut some red fondant by using daisy plunger cutter. Then make the hole on the center and cut open them. Each hands need 2 daisy flowers, so you need to make 4 of them. Attach them to the seams and then line it with green fondant.


  • Insert the slice of the watermelon on the wire of the right hand. Then attach all the bows to the shoes and collar. Paint the seeds of the watermelon to the slice of watermelon, the bows, the shirt and the skirt. 


  • Don’t forget to attach the thin cake board to the bottom of Styrofoam base to make it safe food contact
