Ring in 2016 in style with Verusca Walker's sugar fondant champagne glasses filled with bubbly!
Steps to make the glasses:
- Make two holes half way on the board 10 cm apart big enough to insert wooden dowels. If you drill all the way by mistake you will have to hot glue a cardboard at the bottom of your fancy board.
- Drill a hole through the base of your plastic cup.
- Using your 44mm hole bit cut the paperboard two times.
- Cut Styrofoam egg at the bottom line and hot glue it on skewer 11.5 cm high.
- Hot glue cardboard circle on top of Styrofoam and to the skewer.
- Cut the cake on the middle and then cut 4 x 4 cm circles.
- Stack it together with ganache, inserting cake through wooden dowel.
- Ganache cakes and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Cover with white fondant. (I like to cut a circle for the top and wrap the cup around cutting the excess with scissors.
- Cover the plastic champagne bottom with fondant.
- Hot glue the skewer to the board. (Don't forget to insert the bottom of a plastic cup first.)
- Airbrush it. I like to put a stick tape at the top so it doesn't get colored. (I also like to brush piping gel, add isomalt drops and soft icing to look like foam and of course some glitter).
