Take a small ball of gum paste.
Make a small sausage and flatten it a little.
With a mini roller - stretch from the center out leaving a thin, thick vein in the center.
Cut one side and create a straight edge.
Stretch above the vein - leave o nly 1.5 cm of vein.
Cut out the butterfly pattern - separating into two wings.
Position the wing pattern on top of the gum paste.
Cut out the silhouette of the wing - guiding you with the printed pattern.
Take a wire and insert it thru the center of the vein - and press to mark. Repeat process with second wing.
To create the body - take another wire and create and L-shaped angle.
Take a small ball of black gum paste and create and elongated droplet.
Insert the wire diagonally with a little water.
Let all the pieces dry completely - minimum of 2 hours.
Color with soft brushes - gently using the color dusts. Start with the lighter colors and end with the dark ones.
With the black edible marker, gently draw very thing lines on both sides of the wings.
Outline the entire edge of the wings on both sides this time a little more pronounced.
Take a piece of floral tape and attach the wings one by one to the body of the butterfly - turning one piece and securing firmly.
Finished! Create different sizes and colors and be sure to let your imagination run wild!
