A tree bark cake decorated with sugar pomegranates and leaves.
What is the inspiration for this winning cake?
My inspiration came from old Armenian tradition. For Armenians the pomegranate is one of the most recognizable symbols of the country. In Armenian mythology it symbolizes fertility and good fortune. It is a guardian against the evil eye and at weddings in Western Armenia, a bride throws a pomegranate and breaks it into pieces.
