Describe the cake, details and techniques:
This is a 3 tiered cake with a double barrel on the middle. The bottom tier is decorated with gold ornaments moldings representing architectural designs of a room. The middle green tier is decorated with a baroque stencil design and fondant textured curtains and looks like the wall and curtains of a room.
And on the top, in order to give some freshness and delicacy, I added wafer paper white ranunculus with gold foliage
What is the inspiration for this winning cake?
This cake was made specially for a wonderful collaboration “A Sweet Farewell to Downton“ which was hosted by Jennifer Jenkins Kennedy. This collaboration was a tribute to the TV series “Downton Abbey.”
I was inspired by the Drawing room : colours, architectural designs and the grand chandelier.
How much time did you spend creating this cake?
It took me almost 2 days to finish the cake - from the textures to the flowers and foliage.
What do you do while you work?
I love listen to music or simply call friends or family - of course with headphones!
