Hot Dog Topper

Looking to add a little tailgating fun for Dad's special day? Top off the dessert table with this backyard BBQ favorite!

  • Satin Ice Fondant
  • Flower former
  • Rolling pin
  • Wax paper square
  • Exacto Knife
  • Angled Spatula
  • Circle Cutter
  • Powdered sugar/corn starch

To make the hot dog:


  1. Take a marble sized amount of tan (or bread color) fondant and roll into an oblong “hot dog bun” shape.
  2. Use Exacto knife to slice hot dog bun almost in half.
  3. Roll a smaller piece of the “hot dog”colored fondant into a hot dog shape and put the dog in the bun.
  4. Put the dog in the bun. Use the knife to cut slits on the top of the dog to imitate grill marks. All done!
